Focus On: Season of Community

As we move through the final weeks of the school year, I’m once again reminded of the incredible community we have built together. Over these last several weeks, we’ll celebrate traditions and accomplishments, and come together to close out the 139th school year at WT.

These last weeks can often feel overwhelming, but with that feeling comes a campus full of energy, reflection, and pride. Across all Divisions, our students are sharing their learning, celebrating milestones, and creating memories that will stay with them long after the school year ends. Whether in classrooms, on stages, on athletic fields, or gathered together as a community, these moments remind us of what makes WT so special. 

Last week we showed our appreciation to our faculty and staff with the celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week. The week included our 3rd Annual Day of Giving - and our most successful one yet, thanks to the generosity of so many members of the WT community. And the week wrapped with one of our most popular events of the year - Spring Fling. Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the festivities. 

We’re grateful to the many families and community members who joined us to cheer on our Lower School students during their Spring Performance, and we look forward to seeing you back on campus for the Evening of the Arts on Thursday.

Our Middle School students are busy sharing their learning and creativity through experiences, including their TED Talks and SUCCEED presentations at CMU, both of which highlight the curiosity, collaboration, and innovation happening every day in our classrooms. 

Meanwhile, our Upper School students have been busy making the most of these final weeks of the year. The cast and crew showed their talents with four incredible performances of Mamma Mia! Work was showcased at our annual Urban Design presentations, and several senior athletes have made their decisions official during Signing Day. With Senior Send-Off and Commencement right around the corner, the class of 2026 is embracing their final chapter at WT. 

As we approach the close of another remarkable school year and look ahead with excitement to the important traditions and celebrations still to come, these final weeks provide opportunities to reflect on growth, honor achievements, and celebrate the relationships that sustain our community year after year.

Thank you for all the ways you contribute to WT and for the trust you place in us each day. It is a privilege to partner with you in the important work of supporting and educating our students.  I look forward to seeing you at one of the many special events.
