Lower School - Computer Science

Computer Science is the study of how things are computed, optimized, and formalized into a process that a digital device can take to task. Working with our computer science faculty, classroom teachers at our private elementary school in Pittsburgh develop lessons that develop students’ skills to solve problems creatively, program a machine, or speak to a programmer. The skills developed through computer science lessons include problem solving, logic, problem definition, and constraint identification; these are necessary and relevant skills for all 21st century learners. The Lower School activities provide a foundation for further exploration and study in Middle and Upper School.
