Lower School - Computer Science

Computer Science is the study of how things are computed, optimized, and formalized into a process that a digital device can take to task. Working with our computer science faculty, classroom teachers at our private elementary school develop lessons that develop students’ skills to solve problems creatively, program a machine, or speak to a programmer. The skills developed through computer science lessons include problem solving, logic, problem definition, and constraint identification; these are necessary and relevant skills for all 21st century learners. The Lower School activities provide a foundation for further exploration and study in Middle and Upper School.
