WT congratulates eight seniors, Grace H., Gabe I., Charles L., Dylan L., Elan R., Noah V., Natalie Y., and Alexander Z. for being named National Merit Semifinalists. Senior Michael B. was also recognized for his outstanding PSAT performance, being recognized by the National Achievement Scholarship Program for African Americans. The following students were commended by the National Merit Program, seniors Aaren B., Noah L., Kevin M., and Samuel O.

WT students were among the elite 16,000 semifinalists nationwide, which represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. Director of College Counseling David Seward says “Our students’ performance reflects the caliber of student at WT. They rank among the best in the nation and having 23% of the senior class recognized for their performance on the PSAT/NMSQT is a testament to that. ”

Approximately 1.5 million juniors in 22,000 high schools entered the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2010 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQTR), which served as an initial screen of program entrants.
