Dear Parents and Guardians,
I write to give you an update on our phased reopening plan as we quickly approach the 2020-2021 school year. I am pleased to share that the additional week we added for preparation has been a true gift which has allowed us to accelerate our timeline for re-entry to in-person learning.
There are so many things about the regular day-to-day experience at WT that must change as we follow our Pandemic Plan. Arrival, dismissal, lunch, and passing periods, to name a few, will no longer feel as familiar as they once did. We believe that phasing in smaller groups of students during the opening weeks of the school year will allow us to acclimate our students to our new way of being. It will be important that you continue to familiarize yourself with our Pandemic Plan which now includes instructions for arrival and dismissal.
Because we know that our Lower School students will need the most guidance and time to acclimate, they will be the first students to return to campus, using the following timeline:
Thursday, September 3 and Friday, September 4:
Monday, September 7: Labor Day Holiday
Tuesday, September 8: Full Day
Wednesday, September 9: Full Day
Thursday, September 10: Full Day
Before school and after school care for Lower School students will begin the week of September 8. Please look for further details and a registration link from Nancy Rogers.
Our current plan is that the phase in for Middle School and Upper School students will begin on Wednesday, September 16. Your Division Directors will share more detailed information about these plans as they are finalized.
