Admission

What if school could be more than a place where your child learns? What if it could be a place where they discover what they care about, challenge what they think they know, find their voice, and begin to imagine what comes next?

At Winchester Thurston, students are known, challenged, and encouraged to grow. They experience a curriculum that is both rigorous and forward-thinking, equipping them with the necessary skills to navigate a rapidly evolving world. Our commitment to providing an exceptional learning environment has propelled WT students towards gaining admission to the most prestigious colleges across the nation.

From the earliest years through graduation, WT students have opportunities to actively participate in what’s happening in the City of Pittsburgh, give back to their community, engage in the arts, athletics, technology, languages, and leadership, and pursue ideas they may never have imagined before.

And they don't do it alone. Our faculty know their students well and create an environment for each student to thrive.

Have questions? Our Admission team is here to help. We look forward to getting to know your family and sharing more about the WT experience.

Why Winchester Thurston

Rigorous Education

WT students are challenged by a demanding academic program designed to develop curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Real-World Learning

Through our 150+ City as Our Campus partners, students take their learning beyond the classroom and engage directly with the people, places, and ideas that shape their community and their world.

Community to Be Yourself

Students are known and valued for who they are. They build meaningful relationships, learn from different perspectives, and grow as confident, compassionate members of the community.

Future-Ready Skills

The future will ask students to adapt, question, collaborate, and create. WT gives them the knowledge, skills, confidence, and perspective to meet that future with purpose.

We appreciate the school's commitment to creating a welcoming environment where all students feel valued and supported. The emphasis on diversity and collaboration fosters not only academic growth, but also social and emotional development.
