Seventh grade art students had the opportunity to work with visiting artist Branden Koch, whose vibrant, metaphoric, sometimes humorous paintings and sculptures were on view in the Art Gallery in Molloy Posner Hall.
Mr. Koch took the time to discuss his work with the students, tell them about his process, and answer their questions. After having a chance to view the work, students moved into the stairwells of Molloy Posner Hall to create their own installations inspired by what they saw and heard from the artist. A lot of Mr. Koch's artwork is about transformation and making the viewer see things in a different way. Seventh grade artists used colorful yarn to "yarn bomb" three stairwells throughout the building, adding color, line, and texture to the otherwise mundane space.
