Winchester Thurston School is pleased to announce the appointment of Cedric 'CB' Brown as Director of Athletics, effective July 1, 2020.
Brown joins the Pittsburgh independent school from Normandy School District in St. Louis, Missouri, where he oversees curriculum design and development for the physical education program and is involved in middle school athletics programming. In addition, CB organizes skills training and development for local youth in the greater metropolitan St. Louis area.
While earning his B.S. in Recreation Education from Herbert H. Lehman College, CB was named the Most Outstanding Student-Athlete. He continued his education at South Dakota State University, where he earned an M.S. in Sport Pedagogy. He is currently completing his Ph.D. in Organizational Development and Leadership through Ashford University.

Fech, Ph.D. "He brings extensive experience in athletics management and leadership and is passionate about the power of athletics in instilling values and character. He is uniquely qualified to join us as we help prepare students for the demands of a changing world."
Bill Fitch, who is serving as Interim Director of Athletics during the 2019-2020 school year will assume the role of Assistant Director of Athletics. Bill has been with WT for more than 20 years, having spent time as a Lower School City Campus teacher and in the Health and Physical Education department as both a teacher and as Department Chair. Bill has also served as a coach across a wide spectrum of teams. He is an invaluable part of our Athletics program.
