Upper School Students Recognized in CMU Writing Contest

Each year, WT Upper School students participate in Carnegie Mellon University's Martin Luther King, Jr. Writing Awards, a contest open to high school and college students in Western Pennsylvania that asks students to write about their personal struggles with discrimination. This year, two WT Upper School students received recognition for their writing. Brenda Theresa Hayes, Class of 2018, won second place in the high school poetry category and Evanna "Evie" Jin, Class of 2019, earned third place in the high school prose category.

Winners were honored at an award ceremony on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 15, at Carnegie Mellon University.

Congratulations, Brenda and Evie!
