Girls Basketball Plays Historic Season

Despite a tough 43 - 28 loss to the Juniata Valley Hornets in the second round of the 1A PIAA State Championships, the Varsity Girls Basketball team played a game and a season of which we are tremendously proud.

Though Juniata Valley took an early lead in the game, the Bears roared to life in the second quarter. By halftime, the Bears had made it a one-point game, trailing the Hornets 16 - 15. The Bears remained close on the Hornets' heels in the third quarter and hungry for the win in the final quarter. Despite WT's efforts, the Hornets charged ahead to win the game.

Nonetheless, the Bears played a historic season. For the first time in school history, the Varsity Girls Basketball team won the Section Championship and WPIAL Championship, appeared in the PIAA State Championship, and achieved a #1 state ranking.

The Bears finished the season with a 22 - 2 record.

We couldn't be prouder of the team and can't wait for the 2018 season!
