City as Our Campus
Funded by a generous grant from the E. E. Ford Foundation in 2005, the City as Our Campus program extends and enriches the active, student-centered classrooms which form the foundation of the Winchester Thurston experience by joining them to the unrivaled educational, cultural, and historic resources of the City of Pittsburgh.
In expanding the physical and intellectual horizons beyond the immediate campus to include city resources, these teacher-developed programs offer unique learning experiences that ultimately fire students' imaginations, further instill a lifelong love of learning, and enhance the broader Mission of the school.
