Congratulations to the Boys Tennis doubles team, Tym H. and Alex K. for finishing fourth out of 196 teams in the PIAA Finals! The duo beat South Williamsport in the first round, advancing them to a battle against Warren who they defeated 7-6, 6-3. In the final four round they faced off against Scranton Prep, who they lost to. They played in the consolation match against Sewickley Academy and after a hard fought battle, they came in fourth.
The Boys Tennis team as a whole had an outstanding season. The Bears beat St. Joseph’s High School 5-0, in the final round of WPIAL playoffs, advancing them to States for their second consecutive year. After a tough loss of 3-2 against Warren, the Bears ended their run for the State title, but hope to make it three years in a row for playoffs come next spring.
The team finishes the regular season 10-4, earning a third place finish in their section. They are led by returning coach Leslie Leopold and assistant coach Andy Tuskin.
