Check out the line-up of smart, unique, and challenging camp programs for campers at our North Hills Campus! Programs are created by WT's talented faculty and partners are eager to share their summer with your children. Offerings include amazing new camps with WQED/PBS media; new camp themes like Burgh Beat, Camp Make!, Greek Mythology, Reptiles and Amphibians, Leather Lab, Design Squad Engineering, Blue Marble, PJ Jam Art Adventure, Magic Treehouse, and more; new sports-themed camps including trail mix, indoor BMX and mountain bike clinic, cross-country, soccer clinics, and more.

Fifth Grade Overnight Trip to the Mountain Institute, May 14 – May 16

The fifth grade students and teachers are gearing up for the annual trip to The Mountain Institute (TMI). This trip combines environmental science with outdoor adventure and has connections to the language arts and physical education programs. TMI is located in the Appalachian Mountains along the eastern part of the state, and is approximately one mile from the Spruce Knob summit – the highest point in West Virginia.

Third Grade Chinese Theater, May 21, 8:45 – 9:30 a.m., Nature Playground

The annual third grade Chinese Theater brings to life Chinese fables that the students have read and turned into magical performances. This culminating activity puts the students in the director’s chair as they plan and perform these beloved stories.

Third and Fourth Grade Field Trip to Ft. Ligonier, May 28, 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Ft. Ligonier

Third and fourth graders will visit Ft. Ligonier to learn more about Pennsylvania history and the importance of the area during the French and Indian War.

 

Pre-K Movie Premiere, May 29, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m., Multipurpose Room and Early Childhood Wing

Pre-K stars will walk the red carpet! Pre-K families are invited to attend the movie premiere of “What do toys do at night?” Families will meet for a pre-show pizza dinner in the Early Childhood Wing followed by the debut of the movie in the Multipurpose Room.

North Hills Campus Field Day, May 30, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., North Hills Campus

Students will participate in a variety of games and fun activities to celebrate spring and the end of another successful school year. Field Day is an Own Clothes Day and students should wear clothes that are comfortable for an active day, tennis shoes, and sunscreen. Parent volunteers are needed for setup and to help out throughout the afternoon. If you are interested, please contact Mr. Cooper.

Moving Up Ceremony, June 5 , 8:30 – 10:30 a.m., Multipurpose Room

Each year we formally celebrate the culmination of the Lower School experience with a Moving Up Ceremony. It is a wonderful time for students and faculty to reflect on the experience as students prepare to move up a grade in the fall!

  • Children should come to school at the usual 8:15 a.m. arrival time. The ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m.
  • Because parking spaces are limited in our school parking lot, parents are encouraged to use the Hartwood Acres parking lot near Central Elementary School. Shuttle service from Central to WT will be provided.

WT Kennywood Day, June 5, Gates open at 10:30 a.m., Rides open at 11:00 a.m.

Join us for our annual WT Kennywood Day! Tickets are available for purchase for $27 apiece. Please send in the ticket order form with payment and tickets will be issued to your child. If you'd prefer the tickets mailed to you, please provide a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Or, you can simply purchase them from Kim Rovnan in the North Hills Campus Office. Show your school pride by wearing a WT t-shirt!

Fifth Grade Sleepover, June 6 - 7, 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m., North Hills Campus

The fifth grade class will celebrate the end of the school year and their time at the North Hills Campus with a sleepover. The sleepover will begin at 6:00 p.m. on June 6 and end 10:00 a.m. on June 7.
